According to MMA Junkie and MMANation’s live coverage of the UFC conference call, after more than four years, Vitor Belfort is back in the UFC and will be facing former middleweight champion Rich Franklin at UFC 103. Former Pride champion Dan Henderson was originally thought to be facing Franklin, but according to White, fan disapproval helped lead to this new matchup.
Considering Belfort’s recent domination of middleweight standout and Olympic silver medalist Matt Lindland at the second Affliction event, the match against Franklin, another fighter who likes to keep it standing, this fight has all the makings of a slugfest.
